1. What are Functional Skills qualifications? Functional Skills qualifications show that you can use English and Maths skills in everyday life, work, and learning. They are often needed for: - Jobs - Apprenticeships - College or training courses

2. Are these qualifications recognised? Yes. Functional Skills qualifications through Open Awards are: - Nationally recognised - Ofqual regulated - Accepted by employers, colleges, and training providers

3. Which levels can I take? We offer: - Entry Level (Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3) - Level 1 - Level 2

4. Who are Our Future Tutoring and Open Awards? - Our Future Tutoring (OFT) is the centre that registers you for your exam and runs the exam day. - Open Awards is the nationally recognised awarding organisation. Both organisations follow national rules set by Ofqual, the exam regulator in England.

5. How will my exam take place? Your exam will be: In person – at an Our Future Tutoring exam venue All exams are supervised (invigilated) and must follow OFT exam rules.

6. How long is the exam? Exam times depend on the subject and level: - Entry Level: around 45–60 minutes - Level 1: around 1–1.5 hours - Level 2: up to 2 hours You will be told your exact exam time before the exam.

7. What ID do I need? You must show photo ID before your exam. This can be: - Passport - Driving licence - Other official photo ID If you do not have photo ID, tell OFT as early as possible.

8. What equipment do I need? OFT will provide what you need unless told otherwise.

9. Reasonable adjustments and extra support If you have a disability, learning difficulty, or health need, you may be able to get reasonable adjustments, such as: - Extra time - Rest breaks - A reader or scribe You must: - Tell OFT about your needs during registration - Provide evidence if asked Requests must be made early so they can be approved at least 20 working days in advance by Open Awards.

10. What happens if I am late? If you arrive late: - You may not be allowed to sit the exam - Extra time will not be given This is decided by the invigilator and must follow OFT’s exam rules.

11. What if I am ill or cannot attend? If you cannot attend your exam: - Contact OFT as soon as possible Depending on the situation: - Your exam may be moved to another date, or - You may need to rebook and pay a re-sit fee You may be asked for evidence, such as a doctor’s note.

12. When will I get my results? - Results usually take 7–20 working days - Certificates are issued by Open Awards - OFT will send your certificate once it arrives

13. What if I do not pass? If you do not pass: - OFT can explain your result - You can take the exam again (a re-sit) - Re-sit fees and support options will be explained to you

14. Exam rules, malpractice, and misconduct You must follow exam rules at all times. This means: - No notes, phones, or unauthorised materials - No help from other people - You must do your own work Breaking exam rules is called malpractice, which can include: - Cheating - Copying - Having someone help you - Someone else taking the exam for you If malpractice is suspected: - The exam may be stopped - Your result may be cancelled - Open Awards will be informed These rules come from OFT’s Malpractice and Maladministration Policy.

15. Appeals and complaints Appeals (about results) If you think a result is wrong: - Contact OFT first - OFT will follow the Open Awards Appeals Policy - If needed, the appeal may be passed to Open Awards Complaints (about service or experience) If you are unhappy with the service you received: - Contact OFT as soon as possible - Your complaint will be handled using OFT’s Complaints Policy - If it cannot be resolved, Open Awards may be involved

16. How your data is used OFT follows UK GDPR and data protection laws. Your information is only shared with: - Open Awards - Regulators or funders where required by law (e.g. ESFA) All policies named above can be found on our website: www.ourfuturetutoring.com

17. What to expect on exam day – learner checklist Before the exam: - Make sure you know the date and time - Check you have valid photo ID - Read all instructions sent by OFT On the day: - Arrive early - Have your ID ready - Follow the invigilator’s instructions - Ask questions before the exam starts if you are unsure During the exam: - Work on your own - Do not use unauthorised materials After the exam: - Follow exit instructions - Wait for results to be confirmed by OFT
