OFT Learning Hub Newsletter – March Update: Progress, Confidence & Growth

Overview of This Half Term at OFT Learning Hub

This half term has been a positive and productive period at the OFT Learning Hub, with students continuing to make meaningful progress across both one-to-one tutoring and group learning sessions.

Our growing group provision—now running three sessions—has created valuable opportunities for students to:

  • Learn alongside peers

  • Build confidence in social settings

  • Develop communication and teamwork skills

Across the Learning Hub, we have seen a noticeable increase in student independence, focus, and resilience. Many learners are now arriving ready to engage, responding well to structured routines, and taking pride in their achievements.

At OFT, we remain committed to creating calm, safe, and purposeful learning environments, and it has been rewarding to see students thrive within this supportive setting. Their willingness to embrace challenges and step outside their comfort zones has been a real highlight of the term.

Highlights:

This half term has been filled with moments worth celebrating, showcasing the progress and potential of our young people.

World Book Day Success

World Book Day was a standout moment across the Learning Hub. Students produced:

  • Creative responses to book extracts

  • Beautifully presented written work

  • Thoughtful reflections on favourite characters and stories

It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm for reading, alongside growing confidence in literacy skills. We hope this love of reading is continuing at home.

Recognising Every Achievement

We firmly believe that every achievement matters. This half term, students have been recognised with certificates for:

  • Effort and resilience

  • Reading and handwriting

  • Maths and creativity

  • Positive attitudes to learning

These moments of recognition play a vital role in building self-esteem, motivation, and a sense of pride.

Strong Attendance & Engagement

We are also pleased to share that attendance and participation have remained strong, with many students developing consistent routines and a genuine willingness to engage in their learning.

Your ongoing support at home is a key driver of this success, and we truly value the partnership between families and OFT.

Looking Ahead: Summer Term at OFT

As we move into the next half term, our focus will shift towards preparation for upcoming assessments, ensuring every student feels confident and supported.

We will continue to provide:

  • A calm and focused environment for learning and revision

Our goal remains the same: to help every young person move forward with confidence, building on the strong foundations established this year.
